microsoft office 2010 Microsoft Office 2010 reaches RTM phaseMicrosoft has announced that Microsoft Office 2010 has reached the RTM (Released to Manufacturing) phase, meaning that the Microsoft product is very close to becoming available to the customers. It is worth mentioning that about 7.5 million users – three times the beta users for Microsoft Office 2007 – downloaded the beta version for testing reasons.

On the 27th April 2010, Software Assurance (SA) business customers will be able to download the RTM version. Business customers without a SA license will be able to purchase through volume Licensing on May 1. Business customers will be able to purchase the software on May 12 whereas customers for retail use are likely to get the software in stores in the U.S. beginning of June.

Most probably, the most significant feature of Microsoft Office 2010 is web applications, separate browser-based versions of Word, Excel, Power Point, and One Note.

As for the prices, the Home and Student version will cost $149, the Home and Business version will be $279, the Professional version will be $499 and the Professional Academic version will be $99.
